Sophie Visits San Francisco - May 2001
Whilst visiting Rome, I met a delightful girl from Australia named Sophie Brabenec. Outgoing, adventurous, personable and fun, we had a good time visiting that ancient city and we made a promise that we would someday again meet. Fortunately for me, Sophie made good on that promise recently and paid me a visit in San Francisco. Click on the pictures below to see shots of that visit.....
Sophie chillin out on the balcony at my apartment.
Sophie passed out as I snuck in a photo one morning.
Sophie and Brooke eatin some down home Mexican food we grabbed earlier from the
Mission.
The girls pose in front of the Ansel Adams institute which had Annie Lebovitz's
"Women" on display. Marvelous exhibit.
The streets of San Francisco. Not bad for a one-handed shot out of a
moving car while driving eh? =)
Earthquake exhibit booth. This little thing was actually quite
worthwhile... it showed slides from the 1906 earthquake. Fascinating
photos, not just of the earthquake, but of San Francisco and its inhabitants
almost a century ago.
Sophie and Brooke outside the Coit Tower.
Okay, I know this picture turned out crappy but I still like it.
Found a nice little bar in North Beach.
Brooke hamming it up on Lombard Street.
My money-shot of the Trans-America building and the girls. Woo woo!
Brooke poses in front of the pointy building.
The girls and I ended up going to a little trip-hop club with Gero, "The
German Guy". Had a very fun time that evening. T'was a shame we
couldn't have stayed longer.
The girls in a "vixen" pose. Woot!
This is what I love about Australian girls... we had been discussing the
steam that rises out of San Francisco's manhole covers. We see the
phenomenon while waiting at a red light, I suggest jokingly that they run out
for a photo, and lo-and-behold... they're off and running! Sweet
night-shot taken during the red light.
Sophie, I promise I'll make good on my own word and visit you in Melbourne someday too. =)
