About Our Reviews Our reviews are designed to provide both a
quick overview (Game Statistics and At a Glance) as well as more in-depth coverage of the
RPG games we evaluate.
Games are rated on Fun
Factor (how much enjoyment one can expect during a game session), Addiction
Factor (self-explanatory), Interface and Gameplay (ease of use
and game-engine design), Graphics, Sound, Multi-Player,
and Bonus/Penalty (additional adjustments from the reviewer) categories.
We have rigid review standards, and
when a game receives a 10 in a particular category, we feel that there is little or no
room for improvement left in that area. Needless to say, any game which scores 8 or
higher is truly a worthwhile buy in the eyes of our reviewers.
At a Glance gives
the quickest overview of the game. It is meant to be a broad generalization that
sums up the game in a sentence of two.
Game Setting
presents the opening story and background of the game.
Character Creation and
Development details the specifics of how the game handles your alter-ego(s).
Game Engine
describes the user interface and graphic engine that drives the game.
Game Environment
covers other miscellaneous aspects of the game, ranging from sound and "feel" of
the game, to specific locations and goodies to be found in the game world.
We then go on to do a quick summary
on the good and bad points of the game, then wrap up with a few Tips for Beginners
designed to help you in the very first stages of the game. |
